Mitigating the View — City College

View selection becomes an important factor in assessing whether a mitigative design is truly mitigating.  An eight-story building proposed by San Francisco City College was shown from a familiar vantage point at the foot of the Transamerica Pyramid.

A year later the design was revised to retain an historic building and mitigate its impact from this view.  However, as seen in the second view, softening the impact from one viewpoint had a negative impact on another less than 2 blocks away.
